About

13 Stories

Elysabeth Carrell and Jordan Drew began 13 Stories 'Til Halloween in 2011 as a way to prep for NaNoWriMo. The first year, they wrote a story every day and posted it at midnight. Since then 13 Stories has grown to an incredible list of poets, storytellers, authors, and friends who have graciously agreed to share their stories, and help Jordan and Beth countdown to Halloween.

Nah, just kidding.

Jordan Drew is a type 1 diabetic and stroke survivor. She likes to write books and make pictures. She can be found on instagram as either jordandrew or writerjdmayor. She wrote a book under her alter ego J.D. Mayor, and if you buy it all proceeds go to her doctors...because they like taking all of her money.

Alice Loweecey

Baker of brownies and tormenter of characters, Alice Loweecey celebrates the day she jumped the wall with as much enthusiasm as her birthday. She grew up watching Hammer horror films and Scooby-Doo mysteries, which explains a whole lot. When she's not writing humorous mysteries or nightmare-inducing horror fiction, she can be found growing vegetables in her garden and water lilies in her koi pond.

Austin Malone

Austin Malone is a writer of short fiction who also occasionally narrates the works of others. He resides in New Orleans with his family, a cat named Cheese Louise, and more ghosts than he cares to count.

Carole Conner

Carole Conner is a chandler and writer who spends most of her days mainlining coffee and earning her living with wax and words. She shares her very tiny and probably haunted house (where three people died, and two of them stayed that way) with her two cats, scores of books, uncountable projects, and not enough hours in a day to do what she wants. She and the critters are well familiar with rattling doorknobs, footfalls in the basement, and things that go bump in the night. She believes if more people were familiar with James Whitcomb Riley’s spooky poem, Little Orphant Annie, which her grandmother used to recite with animated glee, the world would be a nicer place.

Foinah Jameson

Foinah lives in the Pacific Northwest and spends her days with a fabulous husband, two Norse gods disguised as her children, and a menagerie of used animals. At night Foinah sneaks out to her office on the back deck under an umbrella where she writes feverishly on a battered Mac laptop, typing away madly until the sun rises. Dark, comic, creepy tales come to life as she sips cold coffee and chain smokes aromatic cigars in the crisp night air. In a previous life Foinah was a musician, a publican, a chef, a burgeoning astrophysicist, and an artist rep. Now a domestic goddess and a mother by day/ writer by night, Foinah enjoys her alter ego as the smoking monkey who gets to use a laptop.

"Writing is so much cheaper than therapy, and you can drink while you do it."
